One of the few viburnums that prefers to stay out of full sunlight, Leatherleaf Viburnum can serve as a solid choice for a large bush in a partly shady or even fully shady area. Plant this shrub in an area that is guarded from heavy winter/summer sun exposure and wind. Have a Leatherleaf Viburnum that is growing out of control after years of neglecting pruning? Feel free to aggressively cut it down near the ground. It should respond to rejuvenation pruning.
